Senior Simulation and Experiential Designer - Leadership Programs

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.

Within Netflix's Talent Management team, Leadership Programs focuses specifically on developing Netflix leaders so they can navigate complexity, make bold decisions, and build extraordinary teams. We're now hiring a Senior Simulation and Experiential Designer to help us take our leadership seminars to the next level.

As a Senior Simulation and Experiential Designer, you'll use strong instructional design and adult learning approaches to create rich, in-the-room experiences—simulations, exploration, substantial group projects, and more—that help Netflix leaders grow in ways that are deeply connected to the realities of their work. We are building for the room, not the screen. This role focuses exclusively on live business simulations and experiential learning for executives. If your career has been primarily centered on building e-learning or digital content, this is likely not the right role for you.

This is a full-time role based in Los Angeles, CA, as part of the Leadership Programs team.

Responsibilities

  • Design learning that actually changes behavior Create live learning experiences and assets for our leadership seminars—think rich simulations, structured exploration, and substantial group projects. You'll apply strong instructional design and adult learning principles to build experiences that are learner-centered, outcomes-driven, and tightly connected to real business challenges (no digital courseware here).

  • Embrace creative chaos and collective genius Lean into the messiness of creation. You'll help create the conditions for creative innovation and collective genius—bringing in diverse voices, making space for sharp disagreement, and shaping that tension into clearer, stronger ideas and live learning experiences.

  • Work in an agile, iterative way Use agile learning design approaches—rapid prototyping, experimentation, tight feedback loops, and collaboration—to evolve ideas from rough sketch to launch, quickly and thoughtfully.

  • Own projects end-to-end In close partnership with our content team, define and manage projects from initial scoping and requirements, through research and analysis, to final design and delivery.

  • Orchestrate the right talent for the job When we need specialized elements—like video, animation, or advanced visual design to support the live experience—you'll help identify, brief, and manage the right internal or external partners as part of the content team.

  • Relentlessly raise the quality bar Continually review and refine our learning experiences for relevance, effectiveness, impact, and scalability. You'll make smart updates based on learner feedback, stakeholder input, and insights from research and best practices in adult learning.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Cares deeply about learning design You're genuinely passionate about Learning Experience Design and get energy from helping leaders grow. You're thoughtful about what our learners need and obsessed with creating exceptional, in-room learning experiences for them.

  • Is organized and detail-driven You bring strong project management skills, stay on top of details, and care about accuracy. You manage your time well, can juggle multiple projects and workstreams, and know how to prioritize what matters most. You can also design scalable, effective workflows that keep things running smoothly.

  • Is collaborative and curious You're a selfless team player who collaborates naturally. You respect different working styles, welcome diverse perspectives, and are open to feedback. You bring others along as you move projects forward, rather than going it alone.

  • Thrives in ambiguity and pace You're comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. You self-manage, take initiative, and work independently without needing a lot of structure. When things change—and they will—you stay flexible and adapt quickly.

  • Thinks creatively You like to think beyond the obvious and are resourceful when faced with problems that don't have straightforward answers. You can find creative, practical solutions that still meet a high bar for quality.

  • Leads with a growth mindset You're curious, reflective, and eager to learn. You see feedback as a tool, not a threat, and you're excited to keep growing alongside the team and the business.

Preferred Experience

  • 7+ years designing learning solutions and building content in a demanding, performance-driven corporate environment for top leaders. Deeply experienced in creating business scenario simulations, exercises, and tools for executive learning. Experience using AI tools to support content development and execution.

  • Comfortable working with human-centered design principles—balancing:

    • Desirability: what learners actually need and care about

    • Viability: what moves the business forward

    • Feasibility: the formats and constraints we have to work within

  • Excellent influencing, presentation, and project management skills—you can align stakeholders, tell a clear story, and move work from idea to launch.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills—you're clear, concise, and adapt your style to different audiences and partners.

  • Experience partnering with business leaders and subject matter experts to co-create innovative learning solutions, not just execute a pre-set brief.

  • Comfortable working within agile and design thinking approaches—iterating quickly, testing, learning, and refining as you go.

  • Skilled in leveraging AI tools to help research and build efficiencies in process.
