Product Designer
We are seeking a product designer to lead the creation of our AI-ready design system and agentic experiences for Amazon Devices shopping on Amazon.com. This role is a unique blend of UX design, product strategy, and program management. As the single-threaded owner, you will define the vision, unify stakeholders, and drive execution across Design, Product, Engineering, Research, and Marketing. You will be responsible for designing scalable design system components, setting product requirements, driving cross-functional alignment, and prioritizing features while navigating trade-offs. This is a high-impact role where you will both design and orchestrate, ensuring our design system accelerates product innovation and supports AI-driven experiences across Devices and Amazon more broadly. This role is focused on building the foundations for and defining an agentic-AI future that accelerates and transforms the design process at scale.
Key job responsibilities:
- Design System Ownership: Define, design, and evolve an AI-ready design system for Amazon Devices digital shopping experiences (components, patterns, accessibility, documentation). Ensure system scalability across multiple product surfaces and platforms.
- Product Strategy & Requirements: Partner with stakeholders to define product requirements, user needs, and system adoption goals. Prioritize features, manage trade-offs, and establish measurable success criteria. Align design system development with AI-driven use cases and future-proof requirements.
- UX Design Execution: Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design system adoption and effectiveness. Create wireframes, prototypes, and documentation for design system usage. Maintain high-quality design standards that ensure consistency, usability, and accessibility.
- Program & Stakeholder Management: Act as the single-threaded owner, aligning Product, Engineering, Research, and Brand stakeholders. Drive projects forward with clear communication, accountability, and delivery focus. Own program timelines, facilitate design critiques, and manage cross-functional mechanisms and feedback loops.
Ideal experience includes:
- Hybrid Skillset: Strong UX design foundation, with experience in product management (requirements, roadmapping, prioritization, trade-offs).
- Technical Collaboration: Proven track record of working closely with engineers to ensure system adoption and technical feasibility.
- Leadership: Comfortable being the single-threaded owner of an initiative, balancing strategic vision with tactical execution.
- Tools: Expert in Figma (or equivalent design tools), prototyping, and documentation platforms.
- Mindset: User-centric, curious, detail-oriented, collaborative, decisive; thrives at the intersection of design and product strategy.
What success looks like:
- Delivering a robust AI-ready design system that accelerates design velocity and consistency across products.
- Clear goal definition and adoption and usage of the system across multiple teams.
- Cross-functional stakeholders aligned and engaged in system development.
- A repeatable process for scaling and evolving the system as AI and product needs grow.
