Global e-commerce and cloud computing leader offering online retail, digital content, and scalable web services to consumers and businesses worldwide.

Technical Product Manager

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

AWS is looking for a technical Product Manager to become part of the Control Products & Services (CPS) group, part of our global Data Center Engineering team, with a focus on control solutions for mechanical systems including evaporative, compressor-based, and liquid cooling. You'll define product strategy, build roadmaps, and partner with engineering, development, field operations, supply chain, and other partner teams bring bar-raising Amazon control products to our data centers.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders across the Data Center Community to serve the Voice of the Customer for the product from initial concept to launch, and sustaining support
  • Work with partner teams to develop controls systems for first- and third-party mechanical systems
  • Write business and product requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements to the business, design and development teams
  • Participate as a member of the CPS team during development, including research, requirements definition, metrics analysis, implementation, validation, factory witness test, and first-of-kind launch efforts
  • Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building highly reliable control solutions
  • Measure and analyze existing products and systems for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to our customers
  • Present confidently to Amazon leadership as well as other large audiences

About the team:

Our Controls Products & Services team takes full product ownership to design, develop, and deliver electrical and mechanical controls systems that programmatically scale compute capacity. As engineers at Amazon, we are responsible for achieving a world-class uptime for our customers. We seek new ways to enhance the reliability, scalability, and cost effectiveness of our engineering designs. As an engineer at Amazon, you have the ability to drive change and make a substantial impact in the systems our customers rely on.

If your career is just starting, hasn't followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don't let it stop you from applying.

We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there's nothing we can't achieve in the cloud.
