Lead Product Manager- Data Platforms
The Data Platform team at 84.51° and Kroger is seeking a Lead Product Manager for Asynchronous File Movement product space. This role will lead the file movement strategy, aligning capabilities governing enterprise-wide data movement that collectively moves hundreds of thousands of files each month across our data ecosystems at 84.51˚ and Kroger.
The Lead Product Manager will own outcomes (not outputs) by defining the right problems, validating solutions with users, and delivering measurable value—balancing time-to-value, cost, reliability, security, compliance, and long-term strategic impact to ensure product direction aligns with business priorities and cross-organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Shape long-term product vision, connecting platform capabilities to broader business objectives while ensuring alignment across user needs and strategy is understood, supported, and executable.
- Maintains a 12-month delivery roadmap that clearly articulates how the work progresses strategic outcomes and integrates business priorities, user research/needs, and cross functional dependencies.
- Translate business goals, user needs, and technical constraints into product requirements and acceptance criteria with clear definitions of done and crisp functional & nonfunctional requirements.
- Partner with the Data Program leadership, as well as engineering and data science leads, to plan quarters/cycles/sprints and ensure efficient, predictable delivery.
- Own, define, and evolve core data platform file movement capabilities, including:
- Fast, asynchronous data movement with smooth ingestion, built in observability and data quality checks.
- Asynchronous and self-service file movement in and out of our four walls, between applications, data platforms, and cloud tenants across the 84.51˚ and Kroger enterprise.
- Monitors leading and lagging indicators for product health: adoption/activation/engagement, reliability & operability.
- Tracks user sentiment via industry standard metrics (such as SUS or NPS); using insights to influence product strategy, vision, and priorities.
- Maintain a customer panel and map key stakeholders (architecture, governance, security/privacy, finance, operations, vendors).
- Build and maintain a strong cross functional communication plan ensuring alignment between users, Kroger, 84.51°, vendors, and adjacent product teams.
- Maintain core product artifacts such as vision one-pager; strategy brief; metrics tree/OKRs, operational readiness checklist (monitoring, alerts, runbooks, support model), etc.
- Analyze product usage and operational data to inform prioritization, measure value, and guide iteration
- Drive adoption across internal teams through documentation, enablement, demos, and feedback loops; remove friction points and champion best practice.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Professional experience leading product strategy for internal, enterprise-level data platform capabilities.
- Professional experience managing highly technical development teams in an agile environment.
- Professional experience aligning and influencing cross-functional teams across organizational boundaries to ensure seamless execution beyond your immediate scrum team.
- Capable of evangelizing product purpose, strategic impact, and customer value with executive-ready narratives; user enablement; visible decision records, etc.
- Skilled in managing technical tradeoffs (scale, reliability, latency, data contracts, data quality, isolation, and FinOps/cost requirements) against long term plan and strategy.
- General technical acumen, able to efficiently converse with software engineers, data engineers, and, data scientists to understand their development processes.
- Skilled in managing end-to-end software product development.
- Skilled in problem solving, analytic thinking, and creativity.
- Skilled in planning, organization, and verbal/written business communication.
- Skilled in maintaining a positive leader persona in ambiguous and changing environments.
- Skilled in quickly flexing between technical and business stakeholder conversations, adapting to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated excellence as a teammate and leader.
- 4-6 years relevant experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent professional experience.
Pay Range: $121,000 - $201,250 USD
