We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Manager, Marketing Procurement in our Lake County, Abbott Park, IL or Willis Tower, Chicago, IL location.

As a Senior Manager, Marketing Procurement, you will lead global procurement strategy and execution across marketing categories. You will partner closely with senior Marketing leaders, regional teams, and agency partners to shape the future of Abbott's global agency ecosystem.

In this role, you will drive measurable value, elevate supplier performance, and ensure our marketing teams are poised for innovation and growth —especially in areas such as digital transformation, marketing technology platforms, and emerging AI/GenAI solutions. You will influence key decisions, lead complex sourcing initiatives, and champion procurement excellence while adhering to the highest standards of business ethics and integrity.

This position offers a high-visibility platform with opportunities for professional growth, cross-category exposure, and expansion of responsibilities across the broader Marketing Procurement organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree: advanced education preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing/Marketing Technology procurement and/or advertising agency role in account management, media planning/investment or strategy/planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, high-visibility initiatives from concept to delivery, achieving clear business outcomes.
  • Outstanding communication and executive-level influencing skills, with a history of shaping decisions and gaining alignment from senior leadership.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and high tolerance for ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep experience with marketing technology platforms (e.g., DAM/CMS, AdTech, workflow automation) and expert level understanding of AI/GenAI applications in marketing—including automated content creation, predictive analytics, and AI-driven media optimization.
  • Highly collaborative; comfortable working across all levels of a global organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive situations and conflicting priorities with professionalism.
  • Strong project management capabilities; advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and a demonstrated ability to learn new tools quickly.

The base pay for this position is $129,300.00 – $258,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
