Associate Manager Of Hcp Data Operations

The Associate Manager of HCP Data Operations, within Enterprise APEX, role will be instrumental in enabling and optimizing operational processes and data pipelines for Commercial HCP data. The Associate Manager will support cross-functional business teams, including Apex and the Digital Lab, by ensuring that HCP data is effectively leveraged to drive insights into market dynamics and performance trends, ultimately supporting ROI analysis and spend optimization.
HCP data serves as a foundational element for hypothesis-driven investigations into commercial effectiveness. The Associate Manager will play a critical role in interfacing with media data agencies, to monitor and understand changes in their data capture practices—such as privacy-related inclusions and exclusions, data quality issues, and missing files. This role requires proactive communication with HCP data user segments and the implementation of corrective actions where necessary to ensure that data trends passed forward to consumption layers accurately reflect real-world market dynamics.
In alignment with these objectives, the Associate Manager will oversee and continuously enhance data quality management activities, ensuring that data integrity is maintained across all operational touchpoints. A strong understanding of media flowcharts, master flowcharts, and campaign execution is essential, as the Associate Manager will be responsible for identifying and addressing material data issues that may impact downstream analytics or business decision-making. Additionally, the role includes responsibility for developing and maintaining reporting mechanisms that provide visibility into data quality, operational performance, and issue resolution status. These reports will be used to inform stakeholders, guide decision-making, and support continuous improvement efforts across the HCP data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vision & Leadership
- Serve as the subject matter expert on US Commercial HCP data and governance.
- Champion data literacy and foster a data-driven culture across teams.
- Partner with BTS to establish centralized ownership, accessibility, and training for HCP data across AbbVie brands.
- Solution Design & Implementation
- Conduct data and process gap analyses with business and analytics partners.
- Collaborate with Digital Lab and Pulse Omni teams to build pipelines, enable machine learning models, and implement KPI/metrics libraries.
- Support business glossary and data catalog development in partnership with Data Governance.
- Program & Project Management
- Lead data management strategies, aligning on scope, milestones, risks, and timelines.
- Communicate project progress and results to stakeholders at all levels.
- Data Stewardship & Governance
- Oversee compliance with AbbVie's Data Governance Operating Model.
- Define business rules and data quality standards in partnership with BTS.
- Maintain business glossary, taxonomy, and compliance documentation.
- Manage data quality issues, dashboards, and audit requests.
- Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Standardize and simplify data processing and pipeline "hops."
- Track vendor file delivery and host regular operations meetings.
- Review quality controls and proactively communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Partner with MABI and BTS to establish best practices, training, and documentation.
- Launch & New Data Onboarding
- Support onboarding of new HCP data for product launches.
- Ensure launch teams' data needs are met by leveraging existing solutions and lessons learned from prior launches.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with analytics, strategy, and operations teams to set priorities and execute strategic data initiatives.
- Clearly communicate results, risks, and progress across all teams.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree is required in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Decision Sciences, Operations Research, or Applied Mathematics.
- Preferred: Advanced Degree (Business, Statistics, Economics, or Engineering) with emphasis in marketing/sales/quantitative analysis.
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, data management, marketing analytics and modeling. Exposure to business intelligence or visualization platforms for data analysis and presentations.
- Prior hands on experience in data analysis tools like strong SQL (Snowflake preferred), SAS/R, Python and basic knowledge on AI is preferred.
- Preferred experience with marketing promotional data across different promotional channels like Call activity, speaker program, samples, home office & 3rd party emails, banners, paid search and Social.
- Experience with database design and business architecture, work with BTS and make sure that data is available to stakeholders at the right time.
- Take ownership for Operations for HCP Data and provide proactive communication to downstream on discrepancies
- Experience in building and refining DQ checks for datasets
- Prior experience in technical/IT consulting would be an advantage
- Strong understanding of KPIs and metrics used for measurement and tracking of HCP marketing initiatives and campaigns
- Experience working in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders
- Expert in communication, presentation skills required
