The Instructional Design Senior Analyst develops training solutions using prescribed tools and according to CDC process, quality, budget, and milestone standards. They have the primary purpose of developing training assets (including but not limited to instructor-led training, performance simulation and virtual-web-based training) based on high-level design specifications. Additionally, the Instructional Design Senior Analyst requires minimal supervision throughout, and may supervise themselves or a very small group (1-2) of Instructional Design Analysts, during the design and development process.
Education: • BA/BS - Prefer degree in Instructional Design, Cognitive Psychology, English, Technical Writing, Communications, related field or equivalent experience. Work Experience: • Demonstrated experience developing training assets including technical writing and/or instructional design
What would you do?
The Instructional Design Senior Analyst performs training solutions production on all types of development projects. They develop a basic understanding about the subject matter through materials provided and individual research. They prepare interview protocol and gather content from Subject Matter Experts and Jr.-Level Stakeholders. They design and create tool-focused, performance enablement deliverables. They develop and integrate module content, materials and media to meet detailed design specifications. They develop and edit content to support the overall learning goals and objectives. They review course materials to confirm learning objectives have been met based on results of audience and needs analysis results. They review deliverables for completeness, compliance with standards, and consistency with the detailed design prior to sending to supervisor for review. They review and revise content based on feedback from internal and client reviewers or stakeholders, resolve conflicting feedback. They support training solutions development process by using development tools according to defined standards, identifying continuous improvement areas based on lessons learned, participating in course test activities, collaborating with peers and Subject Matter Experts, evaluating course assessment results, and completing project administration tasks. They provide assistance and mentor new Instructional Design Analysts on development tools, templates and CDC process activities, take initiative to share ideas and best practices based on experience with tools, and provide performance feedback input to Instructional Design Leads for PFF and Annual Process completion.
