Solution Designer

We are looking for a Solution Designer that has experience in identifying and evaluating alternative architectures, including defining architecture patterns across multiple domains, policies, standards, principles, reference architecture and procedures for development.

Due to the secure nature of this role, we are looking for candidates that has Australian citizenship and has the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and provides advice on the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability, related to solutions.
  • Provide input to build artefacts such as technical designs, security and audit logging plans, and Software solution architecture.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance reviews and undertake recommended outcomes, including performing code reviews.
  • Understands and translates complex business strategies and drivers into tactical and strategic initiatives across multiple areas of specialisation.
  • Working with stakeholders and overseeing/contributing to analysis and requirements and defining Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
  • Expertise with digital business and enabling technology models e.g. DevOps; Agile; cloud models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and resilience engineering.
  • Expertise in development frameworks such as.Net, Java and Angular.
  • Design and implement solutions including RESTful APIs to support authentication and authorisation, informed by understanding of RESTful patterns and database design.
  • Collaborate with other teams to define technical requirements and ensure that solutions are aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate directly with the Product Management Group to inform priority, risk and solution.
  • Develop technical documentation, including UML diagrams and other artifacts.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Technical representation of solutions with stakeholders and senior executives

Here's what you need:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in IT architecture, including experience with OAuth, OIDC, and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)
  • Knowledge of technical documentation tools preferably Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA) and experience creating UML diagrams (e.g. PlantUML, Lucidchart)
  • Experience in microservices architecture
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working in large enterprise environment, preferably Government
  • Experience designing solutions involving PKI and integrating with Certificate Authorities desirable
  • Australian citizenship with at least 3 years of continuous residency
  • Security cleared resources will be preferred
