Architectural Designer - Contract

We are seeking a talented Architectural Designer with a passion for high-end residential design. In this role, you will work on a variety of projects, including extensive renovations and new constructions with detailed drawing sets. You will collaborate with a team that values a blend of traditional and modern architecture and have the opportunity to contribute to projects that range from gut renovations to multi-year ground-up homes.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed drawings and coordinate with structural and MEP consultants under supervision.
• Understand and integrate consultant drawings into architectural plans.
• Participate in client and consultant interactions to ensure cohesive project development.
• Conduct weekly site visits as part of construction administration.
• Collaborate on projects with aggressive timelines, particularly for summer readiness.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural design.
• Experience in high-end residential detailing.
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, preferably with classical education from institutions like Notre Dame, Miami, or Yale.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in single-family residential projects, especially in luxury settings.
• Knowledge of new construction methods, including wood frame or steel/concrete builds.
• Project management skills and experience in construction administration.

Work Environment

The position requires 100% on-site work with equipped workstations featuring towers and dual monitors. Regular working hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM. The firm supports continuing education by covering 50% of ARE test costs and encourages licensure with access to digital study materials. The team culture is collaborative, with design reviews, internal presentations, and learning sessions. The firm, established in 2010, prides itself on a collaborative open studio environment and provides broad exposure to various aspects of architectural projects.

This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
