Architectural Designer

We are seeking an Architectural Designer to join our team in Maryland. The role involves participating in the design and development of architectural projects, coordinating with team members and stakeholders, and maintaining high-quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and strategic thinker to lead and execute projects from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the creation, production, and development of design concepts, schematic level documents, and technical construction documentation.
  • Coordinate and communicate project design, technical solutions, and project execution strategies with team members, stakeholders, and subconsultants.
  • Maintain technical and quality standards using developing experience and knowledge.
  • Continue to advance professional development through training and education both during working hours and personal time.
  • Engage with fellow team members to promote mentorship, education, and professional development.
  • Meet with clients to discuss design requirements for new constructions, alterations, or repairs.
  • Ensure that all designs are in line with architectural standards and codes.
  • Collaborate with other architects, engineers, and construction professionals on projects.
  • Develop initial concept designs and present these to clients for approval.
  • Inspect construction sites to ensure that design plans are being followed accurately.
  • Perform modifications to architectural designs based on client feedback or site conditions.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency with industry software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and other design tools.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in creating detailed architectural designs and technical documentation.
  • A degree in Architecture or a related field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) services.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a hybrid schedule with work-from-home days on Monday and Friday, and in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The team focuses on airport and aviation development projects, collaborating with large A&E firms. This role offers an engaging and dynamic work environment, balancing remote work flexibility with in-person collaboration.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
