Aviation Harness Designer

As an Aviation Harness Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring and improving the quality of engineering documents. You will produce and coordinate conceptual layouts for modifications and new designs, ensuring efficiency and compatibility. Your responsibilities include defining space requirements for wire harnesses, producing wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and harness data reports. You will also select components, analyze existing wiring diagrams, and maintain configuration control. Supporting EWIS requirements and certification document creation is also part of your role.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and improve measures to ensure the quality of engineering documents.
  • Produce and coordinate conceptual layouts for modifications and new designs with other departments.
  • Participate actively in defining space requirements for wire harnesses.
  • Produce wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and harness data reports from electrical/avionics system schematics.
  • Ensure compliance with EMI/HIRF/Lightning and EWIS regulations.
  • Select components, connectors, and other parts through research and vendor contact.
  • Analyze existing wiring diagrams and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records for configuration control and traceability.
  • Support the definition and management of EWIS requirements.
  • Assist in developing manufacturing, integration, and test processes and procedures.
  • Support system development from concept design to production, resolving design and manufacturing issues.

Essential Skills:

  • 5-10 years of experience with Catia Design.
  • 3-5 years of experience in wiring and harness design.
  • Aircraft experience.
  • Familiarity with advisory circulars AC 25.1701, 25.1711, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with TCCA, FAA, and EASA rules and requirements.
  • Thorough understanding and experience in configuration and document control.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, ON.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $62.00/hr.

Workplace Type:

This is a fully onsite position in Mississauga, ON.
