Revit Drafter

We are seeking a skilled Revit Drafter to join our team in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) department. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior design members, Project Managers, and jobsite Foremen to develop both 2D and 3D drawings for construction layout. Your role will be pivotal in creating documents that enhance productivity on the jobsite, making construction documents easier to understand and visualize, and supporting cost estimation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Revit model families for general and project-specific needs.
  • Produce shop drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings, and other necessary project documents.
  • Attend coordination meetings to identify and eliminate potential issues early in the process.
  • Represent the company professionally in BIM coordination and clash detection meetings.
  • Coordinate electronic project files and ensure they meet customers' BIM requirements.
  • Model electrical systems components such as switchgear, conduit, cable tray, and lighting using Revit and related technology.
  • Create installation drawings for jobsite personnel and coordinate installations with other trades.
  • Provide information for sub-assembly and prefabrication and complete specific project requirements.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience with Revit, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in BIM, construction drawings, and blueprints.
  • Understanding of construction schedules, documents, and electrical architecture.
  • Knowledge of commercial electrical capabilities, basic wiring diagrams, NEC codes, and electrical layouts.
  • Ability to draw conduit and circuit elements in Revit, create panel schedules, and manage day-to-day layout of electrical drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in MEP environments and working with contractors.
  • Ability to read blueprints and building layouts.
  • Drive for results, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable working behind a desk 80-90% of the time with occasional job site visits.
  • Proven efficiency in working with high quality standards and retaining information.
  • Associates degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Expertise in building electrical families in Revit is beneficial.

You will be part of a vibrant team within the Electrical Division, supporting industrial layout work for varied projects such as chocolate factories, cheese factories, schools, and hospitals. The team consists of 6 Revit Technicians and 1 Manager, and operates in a family-owned, forward-thinking, and laid-back culture. Enjoy flexible first shift hours, a business casual dress code, and engaging company outings. Initially based in Madison, with a potential long-term relocation to Pewaukee. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $56.00/hr.
