Civil Cad Designer

This role involves playing a critical part in planning and designing civil engineering projects for both federal and private land development. As a Civil Cad Designer, you will collaborate with a passionate team of civil engineers, engaging in diverse and meaningful projects across various market sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
• Prepare planning and designing documents for civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects in close collaboration with Project Engineers using engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Perform zoning and other feasibility assessments for development projects.
• Conduct field inspection services as needed.
• Write and/or review draft reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports.
• Interact professionally with client and subcontractor representatives in close collaboration with your supervisor.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Essential Skills:

• Associate degree in Engineering Sciences, enrollment in a bachelor's degree program with a focus in Civil Engineering, demonstrated equivalent knowledge, OR extensive AutoCAD/Civil 3D training.
• 3+ years of experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion.
• Strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D design skills.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
• Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing.
• Occasional travel to project sites and/or client locations, as required.

Job Type & Location:

This is a permanent position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
