Civil Designer

We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer to join our dynamic team. This role involves a diverse range of civil engineering duties, requiring expertise in technical design using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. The ideal candidate will be involved in project management and civil design for land development projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform project design tasks including roads, drainage, sediment control, stormwater management (SWM), water, and sewer systems.
• Prepare graphics, exhibits, and site/civil construction plans.
• Ensure project and client deadlines are met while efficiently managing project budgets.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, sub-consultants, clients, and review agencies.
• Compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communications.
• Handle multiple concurrent projects.
• Mentor and train other civil engineering design staff.
• Conduct site visits approximately one day a week.
• Other duties as required.

Essential Skills

• At least 2-3 years of experience in Land Development or water resource design.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience with project management, civil engineering, and site development.
• Strong design skills in stormwater, drainage, grading, and site planning.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to meet project and client deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• EIT certification is strongly preferred but not required.
• Experience in the Washington DC Metro area, particularly in Prince George's County, is a plus.
• Maryland EIT is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

Work in a smaller office environment with over $15M in backlog. Enjoy the benefit of having every other Friday off and two remote workdays. The company is privately held and offers two performance-based bonuses throughout the year. Senior employees have the flexibility to work from various office locations including Lanham, Rockville (HQ), Waldorf, or Leonardtown.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Rockville, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

More senior people could sit out of either office. Lanham, Rockville (HQ), Waldorf or Leonardtown. Will send internal benefits to candidates.

This is a fully onsite position in Rockville,MD.

This position is anticipated to close on Oct 21, 2025.
