Eplan Electrical Designer

An exciting opportunity awaits for a seasoned EPLAN expert for a 6-9 month project. The role involves leveraging your expertise in controls engineering and electrical panel design to deliver high-quality documentation and design using EPLAN software.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document electrical control panels using EPLAN.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
  • Update and maintain project documentation.
  • Troubleshoot design issues and support implementation.
  • Communicate progress and blockers with stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • Extensive experience with EPLAN Electric P8 for electrical schematic design, documentation, and project structuring.
  • Ability to manage symbol libraries, macros, templates, and database configurations.
  • Hands-on experience designing and drafting electrical control panels from concept to completion, including component selection, layout optimization, and wiring standards.
  • Strong understanding of control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation.
  • Ability to interpret and create control schematics and troubleshoot control systems.
  • Ability to produce complete and accurate documentation using EPLAN, including BOMs, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as IEC and IEEE for compliance and quality assurance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with PLCSIM Siemens simulation tool.
  • Experience with TIA Portal, Profinet, and Profisafe for broader controls integration.
  • HMI development experience with WinCC Runtime.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Decatur, Illinois. This position will pay per diem for non-local candidates.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
