Designer and Drafter

As a Designer and Drafter, you will be responsible for creating General Fabrication and Assembly projects using both 3D and 2D CAD software. Your role will involve generating and maintaining parts, part numbers, descriptions, and specifications. You will also manage Engineering Change tasks within the PLM & ERP systems, generate drawing packages for production and service, and interface with engineering, production, and purchasing personnel for Engineering Changes. Additionally, you will generate CNC files for the burn table using CAM software.

Responsibilities:

• Create production drawings for natural gas line heaters, industrial direct contact water heaters, glycol dehydration units, and other products.
• Develop fabrication and assembly detail drawings.
• Receive direction from the Project Engineer to design drawing packages that meet customer requirements.
• Originate drawings from standards or previous designs.
• Transform engineering handoff packages into production handoff packages with minimal instructions.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in drafting and AutoCAD.
• Mechanical design expertise.
• Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional (CSWP).
• Knowledge of welding and sheet metal processes.
• Experience in mechanical drafting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Technical Certificate or an AA degree in drafting preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in drafting for manufacturing.
• 1 to 2 years of experience with SOLIDWORKS preferred.
• Familiarity with metal fabrication and welding procedures.
• Strong personal organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on tasks.

Work Environment:

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment utilizing standard office equipment. Occasional visits to the manufacturing floor and warehouse for observation and research are necessary. In the manufacturing facility, employees must wear personal protective equipment, including hearing protection and safety glasses with side shields. Protective toe boots are not required when walking in designated plant walkways.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sand Springs, OK.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
