Job Description

We are seeking a talented Drafter/Designer to create, route, and detail hose, tube, and harness assemblies using SolidWorks. This role involves developing and updating 3D models, drawings, and related documentation for new product development and product improvements. You will support prototype builds, production builds, and troubleshooting efforts related to hose and harness systems, implementing engineering changes and updates to existing designs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and suppliers, is essential to resolve design and build issues. Additionally, you will assist in the creation and maintenance of standard work, routing guidelines, and design documentation, while participating in design reviews, project meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create, route, and detail hose, tube, and harness assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Develop and update 3D models, drawings, and documentation for new and existing products.
• Support prototype and production builds and address troubleshooting efforts.
• Implement engineering changes and updates to existing designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and build issues.
• Assist in creating and maintaining standard work and design documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Knowledge in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Experience in CAD and design, especially hydraulic and harness design.
• Ability to interpret engineering concepts, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in CAD, Drafting, or Engineering Technology, or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience using SolidWorks in a design or drafting environment, either academic or professional.

Work Environment

Join a dynamic team of 9, working closely with engineering teams across the organization. The work environment includes a cubicle setting with occasional visits to the production floor. The dress code is business casual, with jeans allowed and steel-toed shoes required. Work hours are Monday through Friday, starting between 6-6:30 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pella, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
