Electrical Designer
Location: St. Louis, MO
Actalent is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Designer to support a leading engineering firm specializing in custom industrial solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys turning concepts into precise, build-ready designs.
What You'll Do
- Independently generate electrical design documents using sketches, marked-up drawings, and vendor data.
- Create accurate and timely drawings including panel layouts, schematics, conduit and cable tray designs, wire schedules, one-line diagrams, and loop diagrams.
- Prepare bidding and construction documents and maintain drawing files using the Drawing Control Index (DCI).
- Design instrumentation and device stands, and coordinate with vendors to verify materials and prepare purchase orders.
- Support shipping and assembly teams with tagging, cataloging, and coordination with panel shops.
- Conduct field verification and site visits to ensure design accuracy and implement document changes.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 10% annually, including regular visits between the St. Louis headquarters and Red Bud, IL manufacturing facility.
What You Bring
- 5–7 years of experience in electrical design, including conduit/cable tray schedules, schematics, and field verification.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2014 or newer, including AutoCAD 3D and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to create both 2D and 3D layouts.
- Ability to interpret engineering notes and sketches into detailed design documents.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based programs.
- Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Applied Science, or a related field.

- Professional engineering office setting, with in-office work required 5 days a week.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr.
