Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will play a central role in defining, designing, and innovating the electrical architecture for standard product lines, including pump stations, reverse osmosis/water treatment systems, control panels, and power distribution equipment. This position focuses on creating robust, repeatable, and scalable electrical designs that are standardized, documented, manufactured, and supported across multiple builds. You will collaborate with product management, mechanical and controls engineering, manufacturing, sales, and applications to translate market needs into safe, compliant, and cost-effective electrical products.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical power and control solutions for product families, emphasizing performance, standardization, and configurability.
  • Define and maintain product-level electrical architectures, ensuring designs meet functional requirements, safety criteria, and performance expectations.
  • Create detailed wiring schematics and panel layout drawings using CAD tools like AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
  • Perform load analysis, conductor sizing, and protective device calculations to ensure safe and reliable operations.
  • Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and select components considering cost, performance, and long-term support.
  • Support product development lifecycle from concept through production release as part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and applications engineering to align product features with market needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by collecting feedback, investigating issues, and optimizing designs for reliability and serviceability.
  • Ensure compliance with standards such as IEEE, UL508A, UL67, UL891, NEC, and IEC.
  • Work closely with mechanical and controls engineers to provide integrated solutions and technical support to manufacturing teams.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and feedback loops to refine products to their full potential.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product or system-level electrical design in an OEM or industrial equipment environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution, and control circuits.
  • Knowledge of standards and codes like NEC, IEC, UL, and IEEE.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot design issues.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to high-quality designs and documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with pump systems and water or chemical treatment systems is preferred.
  • Experience with IoT products is a plus.
  • Embedded software experience in C++ or assembly is a plus.
  • Python and JSON payload experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This role operates in an office environment with manufacturing collaboration for designs. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with a start time between 6am-7am. No travel is required. The position requires adaptability to evolving technologies in a fast-paced work environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
