Electrical Designer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and over four years of electrical design experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit and have expertise in creating lighting, power, and systems design packages. Strong knowledge of electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis, panel scheduling, and distribution system design across various building types is essential. The candidate should be comfortable attending client meetings, coordinating with consultants, and representing the organization professionally. A strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, energy codes, and standards is required, along with experience in mentoring juniors and reviewing their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Design most electrical systems independently using company standards, templates, and project-specific logic.
  • Perform detailed load and voltage drop calculations.
  • Participate in the layout and coordination of advanced electrical rooms and complex systems.
  • Perform ComCheck lighting calculations for code compliance.
  • Apply NEC and other codes fluently.
  • Lead coordination and documentation on projects.
  • Attend project meetings.
  • Review shop drawings independently.
  • Provide redlines, guidance, and training to Level 1 and 2 engineers.
  • Help onboard junior team members and embrace the company culture.

The position is based in New York, NY, with a hybrid schedule allowing 1-2 days of work from home. The office features a game room and gym, providing a dynamic and engaging environment. Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
