Actalent is hiring Electrical Designers for multiple Aerospace clients located outside of Montreal, QC.

Carry out the electrical design of machines in accordance with customer requests and specifications. The machines can be machine tools, automated lines or robotic cells:

• Select the electrical equipment necessary for the operation of the machine

• Select electrical components for machine cabinets

• Design the cabinet using SolidWorks Electrical drawing software

• Design machine connection diagrams

• Perform calculations to select the correct components 600 volts and less

• Diagram the electrical distribution and control the inputs and outputs (I/O)

• Define the specifications of the sub-assemblies (hydraulic unit, cooling, watering, etc.)

• Communicate with subcontractors to specify requirements and understand how subassemblies work

• Produce overall and detailed plans

• Define the standard components to be used electrically, as well as machine safety, according to the standards of the country in which the machine will be installed

• Maintain internal standards governing the electrical design of machines according to advances and new developments in the electrical field

• Support internal customers (machine connection department and after-sales service) by answering specific questions related to connection or adjusting diagrams

• Respect the schedule and allocated budgets established by the pre-project department

Skills & Qualifications:

MUST:

Bachelor or DEC in electrical engineering

Min 3 years of experience doing electrical design

Experience with solidworks electrical

Experience in an automation/robotics industry

Work Environment: This role is hybrid

Pay Rate: Dependent on experience and qualifications

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $65.00/hr.
