Electrical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Department and support a wide range of industrial manufacturing and water/wastewater treatment projects. In this role, you will lead and contribute to electrical design throughout the full project lifecycle while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across multiple U.S. offices. This position offers opportunities to manage projects, mentor junior team members, and play a key role in delivering high-impact engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret project requirements, codes, and industry standards to ensure compliance with client and regulatory expectations.
- Perform electrical design calculations and prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Create detailed engineering drawings using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Design power distribution systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and client standards.
- Engineer facility grounding and lighting systems using tools such as AGI32 or equivalent.
- Develop panel schedules, motor control layouts, wiring diagrams, instrumentation drawings, and associated schedules.
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates.
- Serve as the Electrical Lead Engineer on assigned projects, overseeing scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Mentor early-career engineers and designers to support their professional growth.
- Promote and uphold health and safety standards across all project activities.
- Apply QC processes and communicate project updates to project managers or owners.
- Review shop drawings for compliance with design intent and technical accuracy.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and field verifications.
- Prepare construction cost estimates and contribute to project closeout tasks, including punch lists.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Minimum 8 years of electrical engineering experience in water/wastewater, industrial, or manufacturing environments
- Strong command of electrical engineering fundamentals, standards, and design practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Ability to perform engineering calculations using modeling software
- Solid working knowledge of the NEC
- Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD MEP
- Experience with lighting design software such as AGI32 or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or interest in obtaining licensure
- Ability to apply advanced engineering judgment and work with a high level of independence
Work Environment
This position operates under a hybrid work model, with two required in-office days each week. Fully remote options may be considered for highly qualified candidates. Work is performed alongside domestic and international teams, offering exposure to diverse and collaborative project environments.
- Office Location: Winston-Salem / Greensboro region (Acro Corporate Center)
- Large, open office with approximately 75 employees, including 55 engineering staff
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Work-from-home: Up to 3 days per week (Tuesdays required in office)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $48.00/hr.
