Electrical Designer – Data Center Equipment Design
Join our product development team as an Electrical Designer, where you'll focus on creating high-performance electrical equipment for data center applications. This role entails designing and engineering medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchboards, and integrated power systems that adhere to modern data center standards for reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, engineering, and development of electrical equipment, including Medium Voltage switchgear, Low Voltage switchboards, and power distribution units tailored for data center environments.
- Create and edit detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and equipment layouts for manufacturing and customer delivery.
- Collaborate with mechanical and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into final products.
- Conduct power system analysis and simulations to validate performance, safety, and compliance.
- Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards, including UL, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and customer-specific requirements.
- Support testing, certification, and quality assurance processes for new and existing products.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives focused on improving energy efficiency, modularity, and digital monitoring capabilities in data center equipment.
Essential Skills
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in an Electrical Engineering related field.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical equipment design, preferably for data center or mission-critical applications.
- Strong knowledge of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage power distribution systems such as switchgears and switchboards.
- Experience with CAD tools like AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with UL891, UL1558, and IEC standards.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower).
- Knowledge of thermal management, arc flash mitigation, and fault tolerance in electrical equipment.
- Exposure to digital monitoring systems, PLCs, and SCADA integration.
- Understanding of data center infrastructure and operational requirements.
Work Environment
Work hours are Monday to Friday, starting between 6am and 7am. The role is based in an office environment with collaboration across manufacturing for designs. No travel is required. The position offers a dynamic work atmosphere that encourages adaptation to evolving technologies and a fast-paced work setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
