Electrical Engineer – Automated Machinery Design

About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to carry out the electrical design of machines based on customer requests and specifications. These machines may include machine tools, automated lines, or robotic cells.
Key Responsibilities
- Select electrical equipment required for machine operation.
- Choose electrical components for control panels.
- Design electrical cabinets using SolidWorks Electrical.
- Create machine connection diagrams.
- Perform calculations to select appropriate components (600 volts and below).
- Diagram electrical distribution and manage inputs/outputs (I/O).
- Define specifications for subassemblies (hydraulic units, cooling systems, watering, etc.).
- Communicate with subcontractors to specify requirements and understand subassembly functionality.
- Produce general and detailed plans.
- Define standard electrical components and machine safety according to the installation country's standards.
- Maintain internal standards for electrical design based on technological advancements.
- Support internal customers (connection department and after-sales service) by answering specific questions.
- Respect project timelines and budgets set by the pre-project department.

Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Bachelor's or DEC in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design (autonomous candidates with multiple internships may be considered).
- Experience with SolidWorks Electrical.
- Experience in automation or robotics industry.
- Knowledge of machine safety standards and Canadian and/or American codes. European standards.
- Knowledge of PLC programming.
- Must be eligible for travel.
Assets:
- Familiarity with Windchill PLM.
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $65.00/hr.
This is a hybrid position in Granby, QC.
