Entry Level Mechanical Designer/Drafter

Location: Hollywood, FL

Pay: $28–$32 per hour

About the Role

Join our innovative team and play a key role in creating cutting-edge product solutions. From concept through production, you'll ensure designs are visually appealing, mechanically robust, and highly efficient. This position involves developing engineering solutions compatible with both legacy and modern control systems, as well as producing customer submittal drawings and pricing quotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and prepare product modification solutions using CAD tools, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
• Develop engineering solutions for compatibility with various control systems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including bills of material (BOM), routings, and assembly drawings.
• Collaborate with national and international suppliers to obtain cost estimates and develop custom products.
• Provide supplier details to Supply Chain and manufacturing instructions for production.
• Use Photopia for application support, generating IES files and photometric reports for luminaires.
• Assist production teams in troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
• Deliver technical support and information to internal teams and external customers.
• Stay current with product knowledge and emerging industry technologies.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Solid Edge or similar CAD platform for mechanical design.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience creating and maintaining BOMs.
• Degree in Engineering or Technical Associate's in Design/Drafting preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hollywood, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
