Hardware Designer

We develop advanced simulation tools that allow engineers to test complex systems such as cars, airplanes, or power grids in real-time on a computer before building them in the real world. Our engineers create models using Matlab/Simulink that mimic the final product. They then run these models through powerful processors and FPGAs to determine how the product will behave in real life. In this role, the hardware designer will be responsible for supporting the design of hardware (4-6-8 layer PCBs) as well as other components of a full simulation system.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design of hardware, including 4-6-8 layer PCBs.
  • Execute tests on hardware to ensure functionality.
  • Model using Matlab/Simulink to mimic the final product.

Essential Skills:

  • 1+ year practical experience in hardware design.
  • 1+ year practical experience in executing tests on hardware.
  • Experience with modeling in Matlab/Simulink.

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with National Instruments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio and SEE Electrical.
  • Academic experience with Matlab/Simulink is acceptable.

Work Environment:

  • The first few weeks require 3+ days on-site to ramp up. Once ramped up, the requirement is a minimum of once a week on-site, with every second Monday mandatory in the office.
  • Open space desks with closed offices and quiet spaces. On-site cafeteria with coffee included.
  • Located in the Nordelec building, which has a rich history, nice areas around to walk and eat, as well as other restaurants and cafes inside the building. There is also a gym available in the building, not included in the package.

Job Type & Location:

This is a contract position based out of Montreal, QC.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00/hr.
