Industrial Designer
We are seeking a talented Industrial Designer to provide critical support for various projects, specifically focusing on delivering innovative and feasible design solutions. The role involves guiding original design manufacturers (ODMs), collaborating with optical engineers, and building CAD prototypes. You will work closely with engineering teams to bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, ensuring product solutions are efficient and user-friendly.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main industrial design support for diverse projects.
- Guide ODMs on feasible design solutions and alternatives.
- Collaborate with optical engineers and utilize teardown insights to guide design.
- Build CAD prototypes to illustrate design solutions.
- Provide suggestions on disassembly features and user-facing components.
- Work closely with engineering teams to bridge design and manufacturing.
- Create high-fidelity prototypes, including optical ones.
- Occasionally work with Arduino/Raspberry Pi for specific projects.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial design.
- Strong knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM) and technical expertise.
- Ability to quickly interpret CAD models and suggest improvements.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred).
- Background in consumer electronics, especially with rich displays.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Inquisitive, clever, and sharp – able to think creatively and solve problems.
- Experience with companies like HP, LG, or similar is a plus.
Work Environment
The position involves working in a small team environment, reporting to a location in Hauppauge, and engaging with various clients on Long Island. The dress code is casual, and the company culture is one of collaboration, fun, and a family-like atmosphere, with regular holiday parties and events. Work-life balance is supported with every other Friday off throughout the year.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
