Instrumentation And Controls Design Manager

We are seeking a skilled Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team as an Instrumentation and Controls Design Manager. In this role, you will oversee and perform the design of control panel and instrumentation projects for wastewater treatment companies. The ideal candidate will have experience, the ability to lead a team, and the capacity to manage projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:

• Design control panels using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Monitor and control processes and projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop control panel and instrument submittals.
• Consult with end clients on panel and project designs, ensuring drawings are approved.
• Work with assemblers to ensure projects are assembled correctly.
• Provide technical support to ensure compliance with UL and other quality standards.
• Check work and guide 1-2 other engineers on projects.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD design, particularly AutoCAD 2023.
• Experience in Industrial Control Panel Design.
• Familiarity with PLCs (Modicon, Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
• Strong leadership and vendor management skills.
• Electrical design expertise.
• Experience in the water/wastewater industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years in controls, instrumentation, electrical troubleshooting, and design on control panels.
• 1+ years of project management or leadership experience in controls and instrumentation drawings.
• Experience with SCADA systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot, write reports, and manage projects.
• Experience with technical support and blueprint interpretation.

Work Environment:

Our work environment is small and family-like, with a team of 18 people, many of whom have over 10 years of tenure. We promote from within and provide a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. The dress code is casual, allowing jeans and button-up or polo shirts. The standard shift is from 7 AM to 4 PM. Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
