Interior Designer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Interior Designer to join our growing interiors team. This role is perfect for a designer passionate about translating architectural concepts into meaningful interior environments and thriving in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary studio setting. The Interior Designer will work closely with architects, project managers, consultants, and clients to develop interior design solutions from concept through construction administration.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program.
• Approximately 5 years of professional interior design experience within an architectural or design firm.
• Strong proficiency in Revit; experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering tools preferred.
• Solid understanding of building systems, materials, and interior construction methods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working on commercial, education, healthcare, or civic projects preferred.
• Strong graphic, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project teams to develop interior design concepts aligned with overall architectural vision.
• Produce interior design documentation including plans, elevations, details, and schedules.
• Select and specify finishes, materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
• Prepare presentation materials, mood boards, and client-facing design documentation.
• Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and participate in client meetings and presentations as appropriate.
• Assist with construction administration, including submittal reviews and site visits.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Support junior designers and contribute to a collaborative studio culture.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, MI.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $28.85/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
