Senior Interior Designer, Workplace
We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer specializing in workplace environments to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. Our integrated design firm is dedicated to elevating the human experience through design, with a mission to improve the lives of our clients, communities, and planet. This position offers a hybrid work model, providing flexibility between office time and working from home.
Responsibilities:
- Lead conceptual design, program development, and space planning within projects, guiding the design process with expertise.
- Integrate functionality, programmatic alignment, and spatial performance in design approaches, addressing all aspects of three-dimensional space.
- Oversee quality in construction documents and design details for constructability, mentoring junior staff in the process.
- Select materials, FF&E, and products that align with sustainable commitments, reviewing graphic presentations to effectively communicate design vision.
- Attend site visits and construction administration meetings regularly, sharing lessons learned to support team coordination.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to foster team growth and project success.
- Guide teams to produce high-quality deliverables, serving as a thought leader within your discipline and/or primary sector.
- Champion design excellence and innovation within the integrated team.
- Execute quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) to maintain design integrity throughout all project phases.
- Communicate design intent and thought leadership clearly and consistently with project managers and the Integrated Design Team at each project phase.
- Lead presentations and manage client expectations to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure project schedules, delivery timelines, and profitability are met, balancing design priorities with project budgets.
- Spend 60% of time leading clients and project teams, and 40% on business development efforts within the workplace market sector.
Essential Skills:
- Undergraduate Degree in Interior Design.
- Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience.
- Professional licensure required; LEED AP or other green certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with Bluebeam; strong proficiency in standard A/E/I/P software.
- Demonstrated leadership in applying design techniques, tools, and sustainable principles to create precise technical plans, drawings, reports, and models.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to process improvement, problem-solving, and high-quality decision-making.
- Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Actively participates in professional organizations, presents at industry conferences, and contributes to business development and marketing by pursuing client leads.
- Experience in interior design, Autocad, construction documents, architecture, interior architecture, space planning, and rendering.
- Portfolio focus on Workplace, Healthcare, Civic, Hospitality, Corporate interiors, and Commercial interiors.

Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
