Kitchen Facility Designer / Space Planner

Are you passionate about designing functional, high-energy restaurant spaces? We're seeking a Kitchen Facility Designer / Space Planner to join a large, well-known corporation and play a hands-on role in shaping both new restaurant builds and remodels across an exciting portfolio of projects.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys thinking through how people move, work, and interact within a space—and turning those insights into smart, efficient, and code-compliant designs.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support new construction and remodel restaurant projects from planning through execution
• Analyze customer and employee traffic flow to maximize efficiency and enhance the overall restaurant experience
• Plan and adjust equipment placement and layouts to improve functionality
• Redline and update floor plans, elevations, sections, and details in AutoCAD
• Review shop drawings and coordinate with vendors and suppliers
• Ensure designs comply with ADA guidelines and applicable codes
• Contribute to architectural detailing and space planning
• Lay out kitchen equipment, plumbing, utilities, and order stations throughout the restaurant footprint

What We're Looking For

• Experience producing construction documents, elevations, sections, and details in AutoCAD
• Strong background in markups and redlining drawings
• Exposure to commercial, retail, or restaurant projects (restaurant experience is a plus, not required)
• Interest or experience in kitchen design is a bonus
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Bluebeam experience is a plus

Job Type & Location

This is a permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr.
