Designer Drafter
We are seeking a detail-driven Designer Drafter who thrives in SolidWorks and enjoys turning complex ideas into precise, buildable solutions. Join us in Salem, OR, and make a meaningful impact by creating high-quality electrical and structural designs that support critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed electrical and structural designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refine layouts and meet project goals.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain documentation and complete quality checks.
- Contribute to process improvements and R&D initiatives.
- Mentor junior drafters and designers.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of SolidWorks experience in a drafting/design capacity, including experience gained in an associate's program.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling within SolidWorks.
- Experience in structural steel, telecommunications, power distribution, utility design, substation design, and transmission line design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Fusion 360 and Inventor.
- 5+ years of drafting/design experience in utilities or engineering, including work from an associate's degree.
- Experience within heavy manufacturing, electrical, steel, and/or structural drafting and design is a bonus.
- Associate's degree in drafting/design or related field (Bachelor's a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently and communicate within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to demonstrate creative and critical thinking on the job.
- Strong communication skills are desired.
Work Environment
This is an in-office position, 5 days a week, with schedule flexibility (early start, shift times, etc.). After the initial 90-day period, there is a possibility for a hybrid work schedule, based on performance, proficiency with SolidWorks, and communication skills. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
