We are seeking a Lighting Designer to join our team in Charlotte. This role will support a leading lighting program by addressing the increased demand for lighting solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The position involves formulating and designing outdoor lighting plans to meet customer needs within specified guidelines and standards.
Fielding tasks including visually identifying and verifying utility infrastructure. Taking photos of equipment and measurements to determine lighting demands. Documenting relevant data from field observations. Formulating and designing outdoor lighting plans to meet customer needs. Communicating effectively with employees, customers, construction crews, and other agencies. Managing customer complaints and providing resolutions.
Qualifications: Engineering and design expertise. Proficiency in Excel and Word. Knowledge of electric fundamentals and power distribution. Experience in lighting and distribution design. Competency in AutoCAD. Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Engineering or a related field. Previous design experience is preferred, particularly in the electric utility or lighting industry. Experience with MicroStation is a plus. Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles, including general construction knowledge. Ability to research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and make sound recommendations. Strong written and oral communication skills.
Work Environment: The work environment is primarily office-based, with some fieldwork required. The office space is new and positive, fostering an engaged team atmosphere. Field duties involve considerable walking and carrying equipment. Job Type & Location: This is a permanent position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
