Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a talented designer/drafter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for updating existing drawings and creating new ones for customer parts that require fabrication. Starting with simple parts, the candidate will have the opportunity to progress to full model drawings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project engineers to receive work and necessary information.
• Update old drawings and create new drawings of customer parts for fabrication.
• Begin with simple parts and advance to creating full model drawings.
• Interact with customers and travel as needed, approximately 10% of the time.
• Ensure accuracy and precision in all drawings and designs.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor.
• Strong mechanical design and 3D modeling skills.
• Experience in drafting and mechanical drafting/design.
• Ability to produce machine parts drawings.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal design.
• An associate degree is preferred if experience is limited.

Work Environment

You will be part of a small, dedicated team consisting of a director, four engineers, and two designers. We foster a customer-centric mindset with a focus on completing tasks accurately the first time. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility for starting earlier or later. The role involves 40 hours per week with limited overtime. Performance reviews are conducted in Q1, with the potential for raises based on good performance. The dress code ranges from business casual to casual.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.85/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
