Mechanical Designer

As a Mechanical Designer, you will create product designs under the guidance of a design engineer that align with company and industry manufacturing processes, comply with government regulations, and meet customer requirements. You will generate CAD models, layouts, installation drawings, and part detail drawings with appropriate tolerances and GD&T specifications, while executing release activities throughout the release cycle. Additionally, you will maintain parts lists, standard build configuration lists, and the CAD database for review and support throughout the product life cycle. You will support the completion of tasks in a timely manner to meet the development schedule from concept to production implementation, utilizing robust problem-solving skills to drive design-related product improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Create product designs under the direction of a design engineer.
  • Generate CAD models, layouts, installation drawings, and part detail drawings.
  • Maintain parts lists, standard build configuration lists, and the CAD database.
  • Support timely completion of tasks to meet development schedules.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to improve product design and performance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and procurement partners to implement design changes.
  • Ensure designs meet component or system design requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare new concept designs and evaluate design feasibility.
  • Perform miscellaneous project-related assignments.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical design experience.
  • Experience in new product development.
  • Proficiency with Solidworks.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in machine, equipment, HVAC, or powersports.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Mechanical Design or a similar field.
  • Experience with sheet metal and mechanical engineering.
  • Strong soft skills and collaborative mindset.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at a facility located in Big Lake. The facility is modern, just 3 years old, offering a dynamic and growing environment with great opportunities for career advancement within the powersports industry. You will work closely with other team members and report to a direct supervisor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Big Lake, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
