MEP Designer

This role is responsible for the hands-on design of HVAC and plumbing systems from concept through construction, including load calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts. The engineer will work closely with project managers and other disciplines to develop construction documents, coordinate designs, and support projects during construction.

Responsibilities:

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems from concept through construction.
• Perform load calculations and equipment selection.
• Develop system layouts and construction documents.
• Coordinate designs with project managers and other disciplines.
• Support projects during construction phases.

Essential Skills:

• 5+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for buildings.
• Strong understanding of HVAC system design, load calculations, and equipment selection.
• Working knowledge of applicable building codes and standards, including ASHRAE, IMC, and IPC.
• Proficiency with mechanical analysis and design software such as Trane TRACE 700 or similar.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Preferred experience using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with specification software such as SpecLink+.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
