PCB Designer

As a PCB Designer, you will be responsible for delivering PCB layouts and supporting documentation into manufacturing in accordance with both customer and internal requirements. Your role will involve designing for electrical functionality and participating in Library Symbol/Footprint creations using IPC standards. You will be expected to independently handle design and release efforts, collaborating with other disciplines to achieve complete technical competency and mastery in PCB design and development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver PCB layouts and supporting documentation in line with customer and internal requirements.
  • Design PCB layouts ensuring adherence to electrical, mechanical, EMC, manufacturing, and cost requirements.
  • Participate in Library Symbol/Footprint creation using IPC standards.
  • Work independently on intermediate to advanced level tasks as a highly competent ECAD designer.
  • Support PCB layout design reviews focusing on electrical, EMC, and manufacturing aspects.

Essential Skills

  • 5 or more years of experience in ECAD Electrical design.
  • Proficient in schematic capture and circuit board layout using OrCad CIS and Cadence PCB Layout Pro workflow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly computer literate with expertise in Cadence/Orcad PCB Layout Pro and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with IPC class II & III circuit board design and manufacturing standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in generating and maintaining parts libraries for schematic capture and board layout.
  • Understanding of industry and IPC standards for PCB Design & Library structure.
  • Ability to interpret component data sheets.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering design practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
