P&ID Designer

We are seeking an experienced P&ID Designer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for configuring and customizing the AutoCAD PID application, administering database development, and providing end-user support and training. Your role will involve ensuring data integrity and maintaining detailed software documentation, while also preparing and modifying project drawings to meet client and engineering requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and customize the AutoCAD PID application and projects.
• Customize symbols, lists, and reports to project requirements.
• Administer AutoCAD database development and maintain detailed software documentation.
• Provide local end-user support and training utilizing company training materials.
• Develop project and application-specific work instructions.
• Maintain audit plans and routines to ensure data integrity and proper system operation.
• Implement maintenance routines.
• Interpret flow diagrams, design packs, or conceptual designs and prepare project drawings.
• Modify drawings to suit client, engineer, and Design Office management requirements.
• Adhere to drawing office standards and procedures.
• Manage and review drawings within the man-hour budget and ensure cost-effective production.
• Ensure high-quality drawings through the correct usage of software and following quality assurance procedures.
• Self-check drawings to minimize errors and maintain a high standard of end-user training.

Essential Skills:

• A minimum of 6-10 years of experience drafting PFDs and P&IDs in AutoCAD and AutoCAD P&ID.
• Experience in design, piping design, plant 3D, drafting, and process piping.
• 5-10+ years of experience as a P&ID designer or process piping designer.
• Software experience with AutoCAD PID or SmartPlant
• Experience in setting up projects and managing databases, using SQLite.
• Industrial construction experience in sectors such as mining, oil & gas, or nuclear.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience customizing database requirements for various projects.
• Strong client-facing communication skills.
• Experience with projects in the FEED, detailed engineering, or construction-execution phases.
• Mining project experience from consulting is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
