Mechanical Engineer Drafter

We're looking for an outstanding Mechanical Engineer Drafter who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done—quickly and effectively. This person will be responsible for developing 3D families and layouts of material handling equipment using Autodesk Revit, as well as producing 10-page detailed specification documents. The right candidate will be able to work independently with numerous stakeholders and deliver to a high standard.

Typical Task Breakdown:

  • Creation of sub-system design standards consisting of material handling equipment and modules
  • Drawing sheet creation consisting of dimensioned and annotated views, notes, and tables.
  • Creation of Revit families for complex systems
  • Identifying opportunities to develop standard work practices for 3D workflows

Interaction with Team:

  • Work independently with engineering teams to gather design inputs from multiple sources
  • The ability to work within and across large, independent teams across regions is a must, so the right person will have an implicit understanding of the balance needed between design creativity, technical development, communication and partnership.

MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM field
  • 3 years experience working in a 3D environment
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit including layout creation and sheet creation
  • Quality, Accuracy, Attention to detail, ability to simplify designs, strong communication skills.
  • Parametric solid modeling experience / Drawing Packet Creation Experience (that include views dimensions and annotations while following established standards and templates)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous direction
  • Ability to establish priorities work independently or within a group and work with minimal supervision.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Strong parametric modeling background with experience creating detailed families and/or parts that utilize code or functions to drive modularity
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment storage systems and warehouse design
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD ACC, Navisworks
  • Experience creating and/or improving upon drawing standards and SOPs
  • Familiarity with managing different levels of detail with scalability

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
