Sr. Civil Designer

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Civil Designer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and design leads to deliver high-quality civil design solutions. You will play a key part in translating technical requirements into actionable design tasks, managing timelines, and ensuring client expectations are met with precision and clarity.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate with mechanical and mapping leads to align on deliverables and design updates.
  • Work with grading designers to refine site surfaces and alignments.
  • Develop accurate hour estimates for client proposals.
  • Ensure timely completion of design tasks by mapping teams.
  • Interpret engineering and project manager markups and requests for design execution.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers and project managers to resolve questions and scheduling issues.
  • Collaborate with project managers to gather and integrate survey data.
  • Interface directly with clients to present design concepts and set up project templates.
  • Organize sheet sets according to client standards and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Participate in project meetings to review design changes and incorporate feedback.
  • Consult with department managers before implementing major design revisions.
  • Ensure all changes meet client standards and align with resource and scheduling constraints.
  • Use CAD tools to produce detailed project drawings and support cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct self-reviews for quality assurance prior to peer review.
  • Mentor junior designers and perform QA/QC on team outputs.

What You Bring

  • Proficiency in CAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and related design software.
  • Strong experience in civil survey/drafting, grading, drainage, pipeline routing, and land development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Civil 3D.
  • Experience working on oil and natural gas pipeline projects.
  • Solid command of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to mentor others and conduct thorough quality checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GIS software is a plus.
  • Diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.

Work Environment

This position offers flexibility for remote work, with in-office presence required one day per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
