Senior Electrical Designer

Engineer 1

The Engineer 1 position is an exciting opportunity for individuals with 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree. This role involves applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to develop energy storage and renewable energy systems. You will support estimate preparation, review design options, and prepare development packages while providing guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors.

Responsibilities:

• Create a safe work environment by prioritizing safety first.
• Understand the processes used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
• Comprehend the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
• Understand design practices and work processes.
• Utilize all software applications used in design.
• Understand industry and internal design standards.
• Support the development of design standards and criteria for the system.
• Assist in developing project management plans.
• Conduct estimating activities for projects in early development stages.
• Perform siting due diligence.
• Support regulatory filings.

Essential Skills:

• Introductory engineering knowledge.

• Ability to make limited independent decisions based on procedure with supervisor review.
• Basic discipline software knowledge.

• Ability to build effective relationships with internal business and engineering functions as well as vendors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 0-5 years of related experience.
• Accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.

Work Environment:

This role involves working closely with various internal departments and vendors to ensure the successful design and development of energy solutions. The position requires familiarity with industry software applications and design standards. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential for building effective relationships and ensuring project success.

This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL 35242.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $36.06/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
