Responsibilities

• Create detailed electrical and structural designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to refine layouts and meet project goals.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain documentation and support quality checks.
• Contribute to process improvements and R&D initiatives.

Essential Skills

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
• 1-3 years of SolidWorks experience in a drafting/design capacity.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge in fabrication.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with the transmission industry.
• Experience in electrical distribution modeling.
• Capability to model actual substation years.
• Understanding of project mating techniques.
• Ability to visualize and explain the model when disassembled.
• Approach to hole placement and setup.
• Skill in assembling a 3D viewable model.
• Capability to maintain the model or export it as a print.
• SolidWorks certification (CSWA, CSWP, CSWE).
• Associate's degree in drafting/design or related field (Bachelor's a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to work independently and communicate within cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

You will be working in the office five days a week with schedule flexibility (early start, shift times, etc.). After an initial 90-day period, there is a possibility for a hybrid work model based on performance, proficiency with SolidWorks, and communication skills. The office promotes positivity and does not tolerate negativity towards colleagues. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
