We at Actalent Services are a fast-growing engineering consulting group which expanded to Canada in 2014. A significant part of that growth has come out of our Western Canadian Operations focused on Infrastructure and Utilities projects. To support this growth, we have opened a full-time position for a Sr. Distribution Designer / Reviewer to join our team. The selected individual will be a part of our Utilities Division based out of New Westminster, BC.

The selected individual will join our rapidly growing team delivering projects to a variety of utility clients with a focus on electrical utility infrastructure. We are looking for people that take ownership, are career motivated, well organized and detail oriented with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Key activities include assigning, managing and reviewing work packages with responsible team, monitoring project progress, performing quality assurance functions, completing project designs, liaising with project stakeholders, and developing and implementing procedures for efficient delivery.

This role requires Drug and Alcohol screening as a pre-employment requirement.

Our operation is under a Hybrid work model.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Design, Physics or Mathematics
• A minimum of eight (8+) years related work experience in utility overhead electrical design or design review on BC Hydro or other North American electric utility projects/programs
• Experience as a Technical Team Lead/Project Lead will be considered an asset
• Experienced as a design reviewer for OH projects.
• A valid Class 5 BC driver's license
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient using MS Office and AutoCAD software

Job Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility of this capacity will be to operate as a Sr. Designer / Reviewer responsible for OH Pole Projects with BC Hydro (B3, Q3 etc.)
• Responsible for the overall quality of assigned projects through oversight and checking and reviewing.
• Attend project meetings and conduct site inspections and reviews as needed.
• Coordinating with clients, co-workers, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of design practices and procedures for Actalent's Canadian Operations.
• Other tasks assigned by management, as required.

This is a Permanent position based out of New Westminster, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $58.00/hr.
