The Opportunity

What You'll Do

  1. Assess a project's scope, brainstorm appropriate research questions, and identify appropriate research method/s.
  2. Run research studies from start to finish, including developing a realistic research plan and materials, recruiting participants, and synthesizing data into findings.
  3. Advocate for the customer by articulating your research findings and product ideas through clear and insightful presentations.
  4. Develop partnerships with various roles across the product team to grasp and impact business goals, system architecture, and product creations.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience required.
  • Proven ability to use multiple research methods, and ability to explain the rationale for using each one.
  • Able to handle areas (user/product/domain) that may be ambiguous or ill-defined.
  • An understanding of the product life cycle and can time research to have maximum impact.
  • Awareness of UX industry trends, incorporating new research techniques when appropriate.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Willingness/ability to question the face-value interpretation of assumptions and others' interpretations of data.
  • A self-starter when it comes to problem solving, requiring only minimal help from a manager or research lead.
  • Can collaborate effectively across all project roles (build, research, product management, engineering, etc.).
  • Don't just summarize study data, but go one step further to identify meaningful user needs and/or product issues.
  • Can proactively identify and communicate clear product solutions based on these findings.
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas to others, sometimes in various ways to meet the needs of different recipients (reports, user profiles, scenarios, etc.).
  • Experience presenting work to your immediate project team and at the management level.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience conducting research about creative workflows, especially those including Generative AI.
  • Experience working in an industry setting where you collaborated with designers, product managers, or engineers.
  • An advanced degree or equivalent experience in psychology, anthropology, data science, linguistics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with or interest in Adobe's creative (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), document (Acrobat, PDF), and/or Experience (Analytics, AEM, etc,) tools.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $67,300 -- $135,900 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
