Director, Enterprise Marketing Finance

The Director, Enterprise Marketing Finance is a senior strategic finance leader embedded within Adobe's Enterprise Marketing organization, serving as the primary finance business partner to the Enterprise CMO and her leadership team. This role is at the intersection of data-driven decision making and go-to-market strategy for Adobe's largest customer segment—Fortune 500 and mid-market enterprise accounts.

Combining rigorous financial stewardship with deep marketing effectiveness expertise, this role owns the Enterprise Marketing budget, leads investment prioritization, and builds the frameworks that connect marketing spend to pipeline, revenue, and customer lifetime value. This is a true business partner role—you won't just track spend; you'll shape strategy, challenge assumptions, and directly influence how Adobe reaches and engages enterprise customers at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership & Data-Informed Decision Making

  • Serve as the dedicated finance business partner to the Enterprise CMO and her senior leadership team, providing strategic financial guidance across all Enterprise Marketing functions including field marketing, account-based marketing (ABM), events, and digital programs.
  • Act as a proactive thought partner to marketing leadership, shifting discussions from reporting results to understanding performance drivers, implications, and forward-looking actions.
  • Evaluate performance across acquisition, pipeline generation, conversion, retention, and engagement initiatives to inform investment prioritization and resource allocation decisions.
  • Build executive-ready analyses and presentations that translate complex financial and marketing data into clear narratives and confident, data-backed recommendations for senior partners.
  • Lead and contribute to quarterly business reviews and executive reporting, surfacing key trends, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions for the Enterprise CMO and her leadership team.
  • Guide cross-functional alignment on investment priorities across Enterprise Marketing, Sales Finance, Product Marketing, and Finance leadership teams.

Marketing Effectiveness & Investment Optimization

  • Build and maintain sophisticated Return On Investment (ROI) measurement frameworks and attribution models that connect marketing investments to pipeline generation, revenue outcomes, and customer lifetime value.
  • Proactively identify diminishing returns, underperforming programs, and budget reallocation opportunities to improve marketing efficiency across the enterprise funnel (CAC, LTV, funnel economics).
  • Partner with Marketing Operations, Analytics, and Sales Finance teams to ensure consistent, integrated reporting across the customer journey.
  • Build and maintain an executive-level Marketing ROI scorecard providing ongoing visibility into program performance and spend efficiency for Enterprise Marketing leadership.
  • Drive operational improvements and automation in planning, forecasting, and reporting workflows to increase speed of insight generation.

Budget Management & Financial Planning

  • Own end-to-end financial management of the Enterprise Marketing budget, including annual planning, quarterly forecasting, risk and opportunity assessments, and scenario planning.
  • Build a defensible, strategically aligned annual budget in close partnership with the Enterprise CMO and her leadership team.
  • Establish investment guardrails, approval workflows, and re-forecast protocols that balance financial rigor with the agility that modern enterprise marketing demands.
  • Translate Enterprise Marketing strategies into financial models and forecasts, identifying optimization opportunities throughout the planning cycle.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a strong marketing finance team, fostering analytical rigor, business insight, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior finance team members, building capabilities in marketing analytics, financial modeling, and executive communication.
  • Represent Enterprise Marketing Finance in cross-functional leadership forums, including with the FP&A Leadership, Enterprise Marketing leadership meetings, and Sales Finance reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in marketing finance, FP&A, or commercial finance roles within B2B SaaS or enterprise technology companies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing analytics including multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modeling, CAC/LTV analysis, funnel economics, and multi-channel investment analysis.
  • Proven track record as a strategic finance business partner to senior marketing or commercial leadership, influencing decisions through data-driven storytelling.
  • Advanced financial modeling and forecasting capabilities; proficiency in Excel and planning tools (e.g., Anaplan, SAP).
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Salesforce).
  • Proven ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments while knowing when to collaborate and call out appropriately.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related quantitative field.

Preferred

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience supporting enterprise B2B marketing organizations and familiarity with account-based marketing (ABM) investment frameworks.
  • Track record of leading financial capability-building and process transformation within marketing finance or FP&A environments.

Strengths You'll Need

  • Strategic Influence: Builds credibility through high-quality insights and trusted business partnership with senior marketing leadership.
  • Analytical Courage: Willing to challenge marketing investment decisions when supported by data; comfortable presenting difficult findings to executive audiences.
  • Cross-functional Partnership: Builds authentic, trust-based relationships across marketing, sales, analytics, and technology teams.
  • Executive Communication: Translates complex financial and performance data into concise, compelling recommendations for senior partners.
  • Bias Toward Action: Strategic approach balanced with attention to detail and a drive to move quickly from insight to decision.
  • Continuous Improvement: Consistently seeks more efficient, scalable, and predictive approaches to planning, measurement, and investment optimization.
