Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Architectural Designer for this exciting opportunity to join Virginia Beach, VA team. The selected candidate will provide support and be expected to integrate into our existing team.

• Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
• Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.
• Preparing, reviewing, and developing construction drawings as required.
• Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
• May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
• May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
• Following established best practices and prescribed project standards.
• Maintaining quality of documentation and project standards.
• Have a general understanding of code compliance and constructability.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• BS/BA degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related field +2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360/ACC, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, PowerPoint.
• Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to obtain an Architecture License within 2 years.
• Experience working in Federal projects/programs.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, highly motivated and detail oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent technical and relationship building skills.
• Must be able to work well with clients, staff and consultants.
• Self-directed.
• Strong communication skills.
