The AECOM Washington DC Interior Design Team is actively seeking a talented Interior Design Manager for immediate employment in our Washington, DC office. This is a hybrid role. We have exciting opportunities for significant Federal, Higher Ed and Workplace projects. Applicants should have had exposure to project management, people management and design expertise.
Responsibilities include: managing interior design project workload, distributing work assignments to most effectively utilize staff and meet department and/or project established schedules and budgets; informing the Interior Design Director/Leader of staff issues, concerns and growth opportunities; reviewing completed work of design team to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design concept; leading the development of workplans and meeting with staff to assign and review progress; understanding the proposal process and supporting the preparation of budget and fees for the interiors studio, as well as review of proposals, as required; understanding interior design documentation and providing quality reviews as needed for all phases of a project; mentoring interior design staff; coordinating with other disciplines in inter-disciplinary projects, such as MEP/FP and structural teams; and performing yearly reviews for staff professional growth.
Minimum Requirements include a BA/BS in Interior Design or related degree with 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years in a leadership role. Experience as an Interior Design Manager is required. Preferred Qualifications include 15+ years of experience in interior design profession, experience as an Interior Design Manager with a focus on interiors, advanced knowledge of interior design materials and application, and the capability to work independently on interior design written specifications.
