This position's primary focus will be to manage the regional Construction, Medical, Specialty Gas and Advanced Fabrication Product sales, training and service in consultation with both National and Regional Company management team members.

As a member of the Regional Leadership Team, the Vice President Sales and Marketing will partner with the Region's Area Vice Presidents and District Managers to ensure the successful development and implementation of the annual Construction, Medical, Specialty Gas Product and Advanced Fabrication Business Plan and its successful execution.

This position is also responsible for tactically developing and implementing sales strategies/campaigns focused on growth of gas sales, product training and promotional activities and will coordinate the execution of such through the District Managers.

The VP Sales and Marketing will prepare sales reports, perform account reviews and accounts receivable performance, maintain and enforce Airgas policies and procedures, all while ensuring superior customer satisfaction through value-added team selling and personal leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, manage, motivate and train the Sales Specialists to achieve the highest sales performance, enhance their productivity and ensure adherence to all applicable safety standards.
  • Develop the Region's short and long term construction, medical, specialty gas and advanced fabrication sales plans in conjunction with the AVP areas to fulfill the growth and revenue goals of the Region.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of Construction, Medical, Specialty Gas and Advanced Fabrication Product sales, sales methodologies, costs, and results, and recommends changes as appropriate
  • Develop and coordinate various training and promotional activities in order to achieve sales forecasts and P&L targets including revenue, gross margin and EBITDA for product area(s) managed.
  • Identify, negotiate and execute key strategic business, partnership and alliance opportunities.
  • Assure compliance with all regulatory requirements associated with Construction, Medical, Specialty Gas Product and Advanced Fabrication sales within the Region while collaborating with the Operations and Safety teams.
  • Administer Corporate and regulatory policies and business strategies as they relate to Construction, Medical, Specialty Gas Product and Advanced Fabrication sales.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and anticipates possible business opportunities and threats.
  • Direct the development of sales and operational initiatives to drive business expansion in assigned area.
  • Through regional AVP's and District Managers assure all appropriate sales associates are trained in and follow all procedures related to the sale of Construction, Medical, Specialty Gas and Advanced Fabrication Products to our customers.
  • Ensure changes to procedures are reviewed, approved and validated prior to implementation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Carries out assigned supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include directing employee selection, training and discipline. Planning, assigning and directing work. Appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Setting and approval of quotas and commission payouts.

Required Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, and 7+ years related experience in Bulk Gas, Safety and Specialty Product sales including previous management experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft/Google Office products as well as utilizing emerging technologies to achieve success i.e. the use of Ai for research and efficiencies
  • Proficient in CRM tools
