Akamai seeks a UX Researcher with 12 years of experience to support AI infrastructure development. This role involves guiding user-insight initiatives for serverless inference and AI platforms, assisting developers with AI workload deployment and operation. Responsibilities include shaping early product experiences at the intersection of AI, cloud, and developer tools through qualitative research and data-driven validation.

This position focuses on conducting qualitative user research studies to gather insights about user behavior and preferences regarding AI-powered products, while leveraging quantitative methods to validate findings at scale. You will partner with design, product, and engineering teams to uncover user needs, validate early-stage concepts through A/B testing, and ensure our tools are intuitive and effective.

As a User Experience Researcher, you will be responsible for:

• Leading qualitative studies including in-depth interviews, usability testing, and contextual inquiry to understand developer workflows in AI.
• Designing and analyze surveys and run A/B tests to evaluate feature performance and validate qualitative hypotheses.
• Building and maintaining dashboards to interpret behavioral analytics, identifying patterns or usability issues that inform product prioritization.
• Analyzing user feedback and data, identifying themes, and translating findings into recommendations and research artifacts such as personas and maps.
• Collaborating with designers and PMs to shape research questions while integrating findings into product plans and design updates.
• Simplifying workflows for model deployment, inference, and AI-assisted tools (e.g., copilots) to streamline and manage intricate systems effectively.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Demonstrate expertise in UX research, data analytics, or related fields, ideally within enterprise, SaaS, or developer-focused environments.
• Demonstrate proficiency in qualitative research methods (moderated interviews, concept testing) and familiarity with quantitative methods (survey design, statistical analysis).
• Demonstrate interest in or experience with AI/ML workflows and a desire to develop skills in AI-based product design.
• Utilize data visualization tools and behavioral analytics platforms effectively to analyze and interpret complex information for actionable insights.
• Demonstrate storytelling and presentation abilities to convey complex qualitative and quantitative insights clearly to stakeholders.
• Hold expertise in HCI, Psychology, Computer Science, or a closely connected discipline.
