Instructional Designer

Our team is growing, and we are actively looking to hire a Bilingual Instructional Designer to join our Learning & Development team.
Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Development, the Instructional Designer is responsible for consulting with the business to analyze learning and performance needs, and for designing, developing, and supporting the implementation of targeted, engaging learning solutions using adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
This role works collaboratively with Business Stakeholders, Project Teams, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in both English and French to build learning solutions that support performance, capability development, and business outcomes across our internal client groups.
Accountabilities:
- Partner with Business Stakeholders, Project Teams, and SMEs across the organization to conduct learning and performance needs analysis, define learning objectives, and recommend appropriate learning solutions
- Lead instructional design projects from intake and analysis through design, development, evaluation, and handover, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned to business needs
- Recommend the most appropriate learning strategy and delivery methods (e.g., instructor-led, virtual, eLearning, blended, job aids, performance support) based on target audience, context, and objectives
- Plan, design, and develop high-quality learning solutions that support both business and professional development needs in English and French
- Apply instructional design and adult learning methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy) to create engaging, learner-centred experiences
- Design learning assessments and evaluation approaches to measure learning effectiveness and support continuous improvement
- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and timelines to support effective coordination of resources, capacity planning, and delivery milestones
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of L&D practices by sharing lessons learned, templates, and best practices
Qualifications:
- Proven experience designing and developing learning solutions using tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, Vyond, or other authoring tools
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and learning project management practices
- Bilingualism in English and French (oral and written) is required
- Demonstrated ability to manage learning projects end-to-end, including stakeholder consultation and multiple concurrent initiatives
- Experience designing and developing technical or complex learning content
- Experience using digital adoption or in-application learning tools (e.g., Whatfix or similar) to embed guidance, job aids, and performance support directly within business systems.
- Ability to quickly learn new subject matter and work effectively with SMEs
- Experience in the insurance industry is considered an asset

Expected compensation for this role ranges from $63,000.00 - 98,475.00 annually. Actual salary offered to successful candidates will vary based on their skills and experience.
